A 6.0-magnitude earthquake jolted Tarragona town in Davao Oriental on Thursday April 5, 2018, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported. There were no reports of damages and injuries.
The earthquake of tectonic origin struck the area at 11:53 a.m., according to a Phivolcs bulletin issued at 12:45 p.m.
Phivolcs has warned the public of aftershocks but said that there was no expected damage.
The following intensities were reported in the following areas:
Intensity IV – Mati City
Intensity III – Davao City, Cagayan de Oro City and General Santos City
Intensity II – Bislig City, Surigao City and Alabel, Sarangani
Meanwhile, the following instrumental intensities were reported in the following areas:
Intensity III – Borongan, Eastern Samar
Intensity II – General Santos City, Koronadal City and Alabel, Sarangani
Intensity I – Bislig City; Kidapawan City; Talibon, Bohol; Palo, Leyte; Cebu City
