No classes and no work for government offices on Wednesday, March 28, 2018

Malacañang on Tuesday announced that work in government offices and classes in all public schools and state universities and colleges are suspended on Wednesday, March 28, noon.

The Palace declared the half-day suspension of government work and classes to pave way for those who are observing Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. The suspension also included employees of government-owned agencies.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea made the announcement through Memorandum Circular No. 43.

In the memorandum, the Palace reminded that government agencies whose functions involve law enforcement, response action to disasters and calamities and other vital services should make available stand-by services or arrangements to meet any contingencies.

Meanwhile, the suspension of work in other branches of government and independent bodies as well as in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective administration, according to the memorandum.

The Palace earlier declared Maundy Thursday, March 29, and Good Friday, March 30, as regular non-working holidays.
