Super Typhoon Butchoy (Nepartak) intensifies and Threatens to Hit Taiwan

It is now Super Typhoon Butchoy (Nepartak) and heading to Taiwan with winds of 140 knots (160 mph/260 km/hr) on July 6, 2016. Butchoy is still gaining strength and continue to intensifies as it moves closer to Taiwan.

The Super Typhoon Butchoy spares Philippines from landfall but it is pulling the monsoon which brings heavy rain.

The JTWC shows it reaching Cat 5 and then weakening to a still-powerful Cat 4 before slamming into N Taiwan late Thursday night. JMA shows landfall further S, right in the middle of Taiwan. Either way, this could be quite an impact!
