General Marcelino Garbo and Daanbantayan, Cebu Mayor Loot a Drug Protector says President Duterte

President Rodrigo Duterte named General Marcelino Garbo Jr. and Daanbantayan Mayor Vicente Loot as among to those Drug Protectors which was disclosed by the President during Air Force Anniversary on July 5, 2016.

President Rodrigo Duterte named Tuesday, July 5, retired Philippine National Police (PNP) Deputy Chief for Administration Marcelino Garbo Jr. and Daanbantayan Mayor Vicente Loot as "drug protectors."

Other drug protectors named publicly by Duterte were former National Capital Region Police Office head Chief Superintendent Joel Pagdilao, former Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Edgardo Tinio, and former police director of Davao Region General Bernardo Diaz.

"I order them relieved from their assignments," said Duterte during the 69th anniversary of the Philippine Air Force in Clark, Pampanga.

"After so many validations – even I was still the mayor of Davao City – their names have already floated," he added.

Duterte said he would not allow the drug sale in the country to proliferate.

"Do not destroy the country because I will kill you… I don’t know what will happen if this is not enough for them," Duterte said.

Loot won as mayor of Daanbatayan town in Cebu with seven votes over his opponent.

Garbo was a former police director of Central Visayas. He was accused of siding with the Liberal Party in the provincial race last May 2016.
