Philippine Gov't offers P100,000 reward for PH eagle Pamana's killer - August 20, 2015.

Philippine Government and other agencies are now in full force to capture the killer of Panama who was being released in jungle last June 12, 2015 (Independence Day). Kim Atienza is very angry when he was informed the death of Philippine Eagle Panama. Philippine Eagle is one of the most endangered species wherein less than 500 are still alive.

Her killer faces up to 12 years in prison and a fine of up to P1 million, on top of penalties for hunting in a UNESCO World Heritage Site and protected area.

Based on findings so far, Pamana was killed by 3 air gun pellets, he said.

"We will convene the PAMB as soon as possible to discuss further actions regarding the dead of Pamana," Fragada added.

On August 16, the Philippine Eagle Foundation and forest guards discovered the lifeless Pamana, a 3-year-old female eagle, in the buffer zone of Mount Hamiguitan on August 16, 2015.
