The victim, who is set to graduate this March as valedictorian, said the crime occurred in Barangay Ocana at around 8 p.m. Sunday.
She said she was on her way home from an Internet cafe after doing a research work when she was attacked by the suspect who was armed with a knife.
She said the suspect brought her under a coconut tree and raped her.
The victim was found by her mother the following morning walking along the highway.
The mother said her daughter appeared listless and her clothes were dirty. She brought her daughter to the police station after learning about the incident.
PO3 Vivian Tamayo of Carcar police said the victim gave a precise description of the suspect, who was later identified as Santiago Powao.
