Updates: Typhoon Amang may Hit Visayas, Philippines on January 17, 2015

Typhoon from Pacific Ocean, typhoon Amang threatens and may hit Visayas, Philippines this weekend. US Navy released track of typhoon Amang where it will enter Philippines January 15, 2015. Typhoon Amang may not be as strong like Yolanda and Ruby but it may bring heavy rainfall which will brought landslides and flashfloods.

Pope Francis is set to visit typhoon devastated Tacloban this January 17 and the condition of the weather will answer whether it will be cancelled or not. CBCP still waiting for the assessment of the weather forecast this weekend.

The USA's Joint Typhoon Warning Center has posted its latest warning on the weak tropical depression in the Pacific. They forecast the system to move W and reach the Central Visayas as a tropical storm over the weekend. However, that track is not definite, as the computer models don't totally agree. (For example, the latest GFS steers the storm out to sea before it reaches the Philippines.) Either way, the system is *not* expected to get very strong. (It's January, which is *not* typhoon season-- so the sea-surface temperatures and atmospheric conditions aren't good for typhoon development.)
